Much of this side of town sits outside city limits — ZIPs 78245 and 78252 are mostly unincorporated — so the Texas sales-tax rate at many addresses here is 6.75% rather than 8.25%. Waste Management’s Covel Gardens landfill is in 78252, which keeps hauls short.
