How to read this page
Every number below comes off the same published price list, and every total shows its own arithmetic. There is no estimating, no range, and nothing added at the door.
Two rules underneath all of it. The minimum for a visit is $75, so one very small item still prices at the minimum. And every job is priced both by item and by volume, and you pay whichever is lower. The volume ladder is 1/4 $241, 3/8 $338, 1/2 $431, 5/8 $513, 3/4 $587, 7/8 $661, full truck $732.
Job 1: the couch nobody can lift
A three-seat sofa in a 1960s ranch house off Vance Jackson. New one is being delivered Thursday, the old one is going out the front door and down the driveway.
$126.
That is the whole ticket. Carry-out from the living room, disposal included. If the loveseat goes too it is $126 + $119 = $245, at which point the $241 quarter-truck load is the cheaper of the two and that is what you would be charged.
Job 2: a bedroom being converted
The last kid moved out of a house in Thousand Oaks and the bedroom is becoming an office. Bed goes, dresser goes, nightstand stays.
Queen mattress and box spring set $143 + standard metal frame $68 = $211.
Add the dresser and it is $211 + $126 = $337, still under the $338 three-eighths tier by a dollar. Add the nightstand at $57 and you are at $394, and now the $338 tier wins.
Job 3: one corner of the garage
The exercise corner in a two-car garage on the Northeast side. It has been a drying rack for two years.
Treadmill $115 + weight bench $69 + weight set $93 = $277 by item. A quarter-truck load is $241, so the load price applies.
This is the most common crossover in the city. Three gym items almost always beat their own item prices once they go as a load.
Job 4: the laundry pair in the garage
A lot of San Antonio ranch housing puts the washer and dryer in the garage. New pair arrives, old pair stays put, and six months later somebody calls.
Washer $133 + dryer $128 = $261. Quarter truck is $241, so again the load takes it.
If yours is a stacked unit rather than two machines, it is one item at $189 and item pricing wins outright. Worth knowing which you have before you book.
Job 5: the patio set the summer killed
Four seasons of direct South Texas sun and the resin has gone brittle, the cushions have faded to nothing, and the table glass has a crack.
Patio table $89 + four patio chairs at $30 each ($120) = $209.
Add the grill and it moves: with a propane grill at $71 that is $209 + $71 = $280, past the $241 quarter truck, so the load price applies.
Job 6: an apartment turnover
A one-bedroom near the Medical Center at the end of a lease. Third floor, exterior stairs, no elevator, and the tenant left the furniture.
$431 for a half-truck load.
Priced by item it would be sofa $126 + mattress and box spring set $143 + dresser $126 + TV $68 = $463, so the load is $32 cheaper. There is no stair charge either way, which is the whole reason garden-style complexes are straightforward here.
Job 7: the hot tub that stopped working
Backyard of a house in Converse. It has not been filled in three years and the cover collapsed into it last spring.
$322.
Flat, including the breakdown and the carry through the side gate. Measure that gate before the day, because a standard side gate is the thing that most often decides how a hot tub comes out.
Job 8: a whole house before it lists
A long-tenure family home being cleared before a sale. Furniture in three bedrooms, a full garage, a shed, and the attic over the garage.
$732 a full truck load, and this kind of house is usually two: $732 + $732 = $1,464.
If the sort gets done first and the family takes the good furniture, it can drop a tier or two. That is why estate jobs get walked before they are priced.
The part people underestimate
Across all eight, the pattern is the same: the living areas are never the expensive part. The garage, the shed and the attic hatch over the garage are.
San Antonio houses do not have basements, so everything that would go under a house in another city goes into those three places instead. Walk them before you decide which tier you are.
And batch. Because of the $75 minimum, a single $30 microwave still costs $75. Two visits is two minimums. One visit that takes everything is the only version that is efficient.
Frequently asked questions
What does a typical junk removal job cost in San Antonio?
One couch is $126. A bedroom set is around $211 to $337. A garage corner is a $241 quarter-truck load. An apartment turnover is $431. A whole house before listing is $732 a load, and often two. The minimum for any visit is $75.
Why do three gym items cost less as a load than individually?
Because you always pay the lower of the two calculations. A treadmill, weight bench and weight set is $115 + $69 + $93 = $277 by item, while a quarter-truck load is $241. You are charged the $241.
Do prices change for third-floor apartments or long driveways?
No. There is no stair charge, no walk-up fee and no long-carry fee. A third-floor unit off the Medical Center with exterior stairs is the same price as a ground-floor one.
Is there a fee for same-day service?
No same-day surcharge. Availability is the constraint, not the price, and late spring through August is the busiest stretch in San Antonio because of PCS and student move-outs.
What is the smallest job worth booking?
Anything, but the $75 minimum means a single $30 microwave or a $45 dining chair still costs $75. Walk the garage first and find the other four things, because one visit is one minimum.
